Is Ziller ink waterproof?

Is calligraphy ink the same as fountain pen ink?

Similar to oil and water, the particles settle over time and the ink containers need to be shaken. These particles will clog up a fountain pen.

How do you thicken homemade ink?
To fix that, simply stir some water into the ink! I usually start with 1/4 teaspoon and keep adding until the ink has a smoother consistency. You should stir white and metallic inks to the consistency of cream. Go a bit thinner with colored inks and black inks — you want them to be more watery.
Is India ink the same as calligraphy ink?
Calligraphy and india inks are not designed for fountain pens. Some calligraphy inks are also thicker and gooier meant for dip pens so that the ink sits up on the paper and does not bleed into the paper fibers. This characteristic is particularly handy when you are using very wide italic nibs.
Can I use printer ink for dip pens?
Inkjet ink isn’t suitable for fountain pens. It has a waterproof element that can’t be cleaned out if it dries in a pen. It MIGHT be OK with a dip pen, but they can be cleaned with stronger solvents than fountain pens can!
Can you thicken ink?
To thicken up a thin ink easily you can leave the lid off overnight so the water evaporates. Alternatively, add some gum arabic which you can get from art supply shops. Just add a small amount at a time and stir well until it’s the right consistency.
